Golf Day and Dinner.
We can confirm that on Sunday, Haslingden Cricket Club signed Ramsbottom player Phil Hayes as professional for the 2009 season. We feel that Phil has more than proved himself in the Lancashire League and will be an excellent acquisition to our side. Our chairman informed members at the AGM that due to the current financial climate we were considering looking for a UK based player. Given Phil's track record we feel that he is as good as there is around. He is currently studying at Loughborough University where he is benefiting from excellent cricket coaching. He is someone whose game is improving all the time and we expect him to take the step up to the professional ranks in his stride. Phil is extremely keen to move his game to the next level, he is a top guy and we're sure he will make a big impact at the club.
