Haslingden Cricket Club are delighted to announce that we are to ‘Partner’ with the CriKIT Charity in order to recycle redundant cricket equipment and clothing from within our club and donate this to CriKIT.
CriKIT is a new, registered, non-profit making organisation set up by 17 year old Tom Robinson. Once CriKIT have received donations of kit and equipment from clubs such as ourselves, they will then arrange to ship it over to South Africa for the Kit to be distributed where best needed, most commonly in severly underprivileged South African Township areas. To make this possible CriKIT has formed a relationship with the Gary Kirsten Foundation who can distribute such kit where it is needed most. The kit will be given to individuals who need the equipment on a free issue basis with no money involved.
Kit collections at HCC will be arranged over the coming weeks and information will be distributed via email, twitter and in the club house regarding these collections.
If you would like to learn more about CriKIT, then please take a look at their website, a link for which is given below :
If any other Lancashire League club would also like to be involved in this project, then Tom can be contacted directly through the above website. Alternatively kit could be arranged to be dropped off at HCC on the specified collection dates once arranged.

The committee are much saddened to announce the passing at the age of 86 of our former President, 1st XI Captain and Honorary Life Member John Winter. Our sincere condolences go out to Maureen, his family and all his friends and our thoughts are with them all at this sad time.
In a 1st XI Career spanning 29 years from 1947 to 1976 John scored 7659 runs at an average of 16.8 with a highest score of 94 and with John passing the 50 mark on 58 occasions.
Despite suffering from illness in the past couple of years, John was still a regular visitor to Bentgate to watch the cricket when his health and the weather permitted. His passing is a sad loss to the Club.
John’s funeral will be held on Wednesday, April 25th. There will be a service at St Mary Magdalene, Gawthorpe Road, Burnley at 1.15pm and then Burnley Crematorium at 2.20pm.
Further information will be added this post as it becomes available.

Sat: 1pm – 8pm* *(later if demand dictates or function on)
