The Lancashire League Experience: Celebrating 125 Years of the Lancashire Cricket League

The Heritage Lottery Fund Roadshow will be visiting the CDM Windows Bentgate Cricket Ground on Thursday 30 November at 7.30 pm to make their presentation to members, supporters friends & family of Haslingden CC. Brian Heywood and fellow members of the Steering Group will be making the presentation.

We look forward to welcoming as many interested HCC people as is possible.

To summarise : The Lancashire Cricket League has received initial support from the National Lottery for its project ‘The Lancashire League Experience: Celebrating 125 Years of the Lancashire Cricket League’. The project aims to celebrate and preserve the heritage of the Lancashire Cricket League, which turns 125 years old in 2017.

Development funding of 28,600 pounds has been awarded by the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) to help the project to progress their plans across the League’s clubs in preparation for a full grant application of 338,100 pounds in 2018. In order to proceed to submit for the second stage of funding, the project must raise £20,000 of partnership funding. Member clubs such as ourselves have pledged support to this target but the project is still short of the required amount.  To this end the Steering Group have created a Just Giving crowdfunding page for the project which you can access through the following link should you wish to make a personal contribution.

Made possible by money raised by National Lottery players, the project will celebrate the history and heritage of the League’s 17 clubs, covering a large swathe of Pennine Lancashire, flanked by Colne, Clitheroe, Darwen, Ramsbottom and just over the border to Todmorden.

Further information is available on the Lancashire League Website and can be seen on the link below.
