At Bentgate on Sunday the Haslingden 1st XI took on Bacup who won the toss and asked Haslingden to bat first with one eye on the forecast for heavy rain showers. When Serasinghe was dismissed for 55 the score was 126 for 4 and there was a mid order collapse with five wickets falling for eight runs. After somewhat of a panic Bacup got over the line with eight wickets down in the 37th over. Griffin took 3 for 23 and Burl 4 for 45. Four points to Haslingden and twelve points to Bacup.
